Jan Sessler has been living and working as an artist in Taos, New Mexico since 1993. Jan has exhibited extensively in New Mexico and internationally in Guatemala, Mexico and Austria. Jan’s mixed media works on paper, monotypes and paintings incorporate the use of collage, ink, paint and drawing with found object, thread, old text and other printed matter. In 2008 Jan Sessler was awarded a grant from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation in New York City. In 1998 she was selected by David Witt, former curator of the Harwood Museum and author of The Taos Moderns as part of a group forming "The Next Generation" of Taos artists.
