12th SITE Santa Fe International – Cecilia Alemani

 

Cecilia Alemani will curate the 12th SITE SANTA FE International, (formerly known as the SITE SANTA FE Biennial) opening summer 2025 and running through early 2026. Since its creation in 1995, the International has served as a model for international contemporary art exhibitions and inspired countless exhibitions of its kind globally. As the anchor of SITE SANTA FE’s programming, it has served as the foundation for robust year-round programming at the institution, which is in keeping with the artist-centric approach of the SITE SANTA FE International, allowing artists to realize work they wouldn’t be able to create elsewhere.

The 2025 edition will mark the 30th anniversary of the museum as well as the biennial itself. When it was founded in 1995, the SITE Biennial was one of the rare recurring art events, alongside Whitney Biennial and Carnegie International. Over the following years, it hosted several prestigious curators like Francesco Bonami, Robert Storr, Candice Hopkins, and Ruba Katrib.

The Santa Fe Artists’ Medical Fund will be hosting its Annual 6“ x 6“ Show and Silent Auction“ on December 10, 2023 from 3- 5 PM at SITE Santa Fe.  The SITE Santa Fe auction features more than 150 original works of art, including paintings, photographs and sculptures by some of Northern New Mexico‘s finest artists.  Champagne and appetizers will be served, and the event is free to all to attend.

2023 Santa Fe Studio Tour

15th Annual 2023 Santa Fe Studio Tour

October 21–22 and October 28–29, 11 am-5 pm
various locations across Santa Fe, New Mexico

Join the Santa Fe Studio Arts Collective for the 15th Annual Santa Fe Studio Tour. More than 100 local artists will open their studios city-wide for two weekends, October 21–22 and 27–28, from 11 am until 5 pm each day.

2023 Santa Fe Studio Tour kicks off with a preview gallery opening on October 20, 5-8 pm, at the Santa Fe Woman’s Club located at 1616 Old Pecos Trail. Each artist on the tour will exhibit one piece. Celebrate the tour, meet the artists, and get information on how best to plan your self-guided Santa Fe Studio Tour. The gallery will be open all weekend, October 21–22, 1-4 pm.

Plan your tour experience ahead of time by downloading the free tour app. Read artist profiles, see their work, and get directions to the studios through Google Maps. The app is available on iOS + Android platforms. Map brochures are also available throughout the city, and the tour website features a printable tour map to be used in conjunction with the app.

Art Call for Burning Man

Dear artists, do you have or would you like to make an art piece for exhibition at Burning Man?
 
We are a Burning Man art camp, Pablos Crusty Creatives, is looking for suitable art pieces to be exhibited in our outdoor gallery that we will be bringing to Burning Man in 2023! The art will be exhibited in a large 2 story installation that was at Burning Man last year (Faradays Cage) . We are modifying it to serve as an open Playa art gallery this year.
 
The 2023 Burning Man theme is Animalia which includes human and mythical creatures as well, but really any theme will be considered including light installations. The art needs to be able to withstand the outdoor elements of the high desert (heat, dust, rain and high wind). One thing of note is that shortly after installation the art pieces will be covered in a fine layer of white, flour like dust, so non porous mediums like metal, plastic, etc may be desirable as it is hard to get the dust off porous substrates. We will have lighting available for each piece depending on needs.

Santa Fe Modern

Santa Fe, New Mexico is a city that has a rich history of architecture and art, and is known for its unique blend of traditional and modern styles.

In terms of architecture, Santa Fe is home to a style known as Santa Fe Modernism, which emerged in the 1930s and 1940s as a response to the city’s traditional adobe architecture. Santa Fe Modernism is characterized by its use of modern materials, such as steel and glass, and its incorporation of the natural landscape into the design of buildings.
